This month's book is The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali.
A young Ellie lives a life of luxury in the 1950s until the untimely death of her father forces her and her mother to move downtown. There, she befriends a local girl whose reappearance later in their lives will lead to an earth-shattering betrayal. Set against three tumultuous decades in Tehran, Iran, this coming-of-age story explores friendship, feminism, and political activism.
